The soldiers of land, air, space, and sea were gathered together on a hill that formed a natural amphitheater. The latest in a string of combined forces meetings since the end of the global war. Across the hillside they sprawled, visually divided by the colors of their camo uniforms. Greens for land, light blues and white for air, dark blues and black for space, and a blue and green wavy design for sea.

The conscripts had been released first, sent back home concealing their memory images of violence to hide from their families. Microwave cannons were some of the most inhumane weapons. Soldiers cooked from the inside out. Their faces distorted in fear upon feeling the warmth, then progressing into excruciating pain as life was drained and flesh was roasted. The victims couldn’t even scream since their vocal cords were one of the first organs to be destroyed by the rays. Then there were Electro-Magnetic Pulse (EMP) bombs that disabled electronic equipment. One exposure to the waves of magnetism were manageable. However, repeated exposure distorted how one perceived the environment and time. People were driven mad while their electronics were disabled. Chemical and biological weapons were outlawed, but the grunt soldiers on the frontlines were familiar with debilitating effects of both. Sworn to lifetime secrecy, discretion demanded…
