Peter Achieves Perfection

Most scholars agree that Simon Peter, the “rock” upon which Christ Jesus built his church was illiterate. His epistles (letters) were written by others who worked closely with him and followed his direction. In the case of 1 Peter, the scribe recording Peter’s message was Silas (Silvanus in some translations, see 1 Peter 5:12). The author(s) are not determined for 2 Peter.
